Don’t let your Disneyland trip be a disappointment: use my guides for the BEST visit to the Happiest Place on Earth! Forget hours of internet research — if you’re going with kids, this is everything you need to know.
I’m SO excited to fill you in on something I’ve been working on for months: mom guides for Disneyland!
For a little background, I’m OBSESSED with Disneyland. I grew up in southern California and went frequently as a kid; I marched in parades there with my high school band, went for corporate picnics as an adult, and still take my kids there pretty frequently even though I now live in Seattle. But that’s not all. I watch documentaries, read books, follow message boards. I love talking about Disneyland and get pretty bummed out when a friend goes to Disneyland without consulting me. Ha! In other words, I’m a total Disneyland nerd.
(True story: When I was in 7th grade, my parents told us at Christmas that we’d be going to Disney World for spring break. I was SO EXCITED. This was the pre-internet era, so I borrowed a stack of books from a travel agent and literally spent the next 4 months planning every aspect of our trip, down to what order we should do certain rides. It ended up being a perfect, flawless trip and my parents still talk about my helpful planning. This is the level of dedication I bring to the table, people. :) That’s the only time I’ve been to Disney World, but I’ve turned that laser focus to knowing all the ins and outs of Disneyland ever since.)
Anyway, I’ve slowly been letting my freak flag fly on this subject and a bunch of my Seattle friends started asking me for tips and Disneyland hacks when they were planning their own visits. There are so.many. websites / books / articles out there to check out when you’re planning a trip, and it can get super overwhelming — don’t you wish you just had a friend who already knew all that stuff and could tell you just what you need to know?!
Hello, new friend. That’s what I can do for you, too. I LOVE helping people plan their Disneyland trips and actually wish I could be a full-time Disneyland tour guide — but since that’s not an option right now, this is the next best thing:
Introducing mom guides for Disneyland! I’ve written two separate guides — one for newbies, one for anyone who’s been before — designed to make your Disneyland trip with kids a little easier and a LOT better. Here’s the run down:
THE ULTIMATE MOM GUIDE TO DISNEYLAND is a 12 (!) page PDF of Disneyland goodness. It’s everything you need to know if you’re going with kids — which rides are best for which ages, tips for bringing babies, good spots to grab food with hangry kids in each “land.” I’ve also thrown in all my best hacks and little-known secrets, gathered over a lifetime of visits.
A MOM’S FIRST-TIME GUIDE TO DISNEYLAND is specifically written for my friends who know very little about the resort, designed to get you up to speed quickly on the Disneyland basics and help you feel prepared for what could otherwise be an overwhelming trip. It includes tips for avoiding crowds and picking a hotel, a glossary of all those crazy Disney terms (Fastpass, MaxPass, Rider Switch, etc. etc.), fills you in on the best ways to meet characters, and more.
Plus, both guides come with a Ride Grid page I created just for you. You can print it out or keep it on your phone for an at-a-glance guide for every ride in the park: location, height requirements, eligibility for Fastpass, etc.
And finally — if you grab a guide before Oct. 27, I’ll throw in a special Holiday Guide to Disneyland! With Halloween Time going on now and Holiday Time running Nov. 9 through the new year, this is the MOST EXCITING time of year to visit the Disneyland Resort and you don’t want to miss any of the festivities!
I’ve let a few friends test drive these guides before I released them to all of you, and here’s what they said:
"While I consider myself a fairly versed Disneyland visitor, I still learned a few tips from your guide that I never knew about!" -- Kendra
"This guide is amazing! Thank you!! Honestly, I didn't know much about Disneyland and this was so helpful. I hope a lot of people are taking advantage of this because it’s the bomb." -- Stephanie
"Planning a first trip to Disneyland can be super overwhelming. There is so much information out there and everyone has an opinion on how it should be done. I firmly believe it is best to just pick one excellent source of information, and stick with it.
Your Disneyland guides are absolutely that: we didn’t miss a thing on our trip and felt totally prepared for a magical trip to see The Mouse!" -- Annie
“As someone who is a little Disneyland-obsessed and has been going her whole life, I like to think that I know my way around the park.
So when I got the Ultimate Boymom’s Guide to Disneyland, I thought there would be one, maybe two helpful tips that I didn’t already know about.
I was totally wrong! There were so many cool things and great ideas that I had never experienced with my boys that made our last trip to Disneyland that much more magical.” — Alex
If you’ve got a Disneyland trip on the horizon, don’t waste time or money — let me do the research for you. Grab one of the guides available here and get ready for the BEST trip to Disneyland ever!
